Picked the car up from the airport and headed for the Pacific Coast road. Drove along the coast to Monterey.

Stopped off at Cannery Row which has shops & seafood restaurants.

Checked into the hotel late afternoon then went back to Monterey Fishermans Wharf for tea. Watched the sea lions, pelicans & sea otters in the harbour.

Put an end to a very tough ...

It was in none of our guide books but we got there to find it was wine central! Hundreds of vineyards surround the town and not for the first time on this trip we spent a good few hours doing some ...

... Castle in the afternoon and signed up to a tour. For those that don’t know who Hearst is, apparently he was the first media mogul dude back in the day. Owned heaps of American stuff and had money pouring out from, well, lets just say he was rich.

He built this massive mansion / castle overlooking the coast and stashed the place with expensive knick-knacks from all over the world. Most many years old and with some ...
