... my 4 days in Broken Hill, overall I really enjoyed the place and the sights, I probably would only spend tops 3 days there where you would be able to see everything. The people I met at the Hostel were all fantastic as well as the hostel its self; the owners are friendly and a good place to stay in general.

So at the moment I haven’t posted any photos because I have to get them developed and then I have to scan them, so hopefully at some point soon I will have some photos.
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia goontackWe saw the Ghan on its way to Adelaide just as we were crossing the railway line near our campsite this morning. We headed south to Port Pirie then east toward Broken Hill. The weather in Broken Hill will hopefully not be as bad as that forecast for Adelaide, although we did drive through a dust storm and it is rather windy at the moment.
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia deepblueyonderSo far on this blog I have spent far too much time reliving the tales of our trip and Caroline has spent far too much time nagging me to "Update the blog" so in the spirit of fairness(and too give me a break) she is going to writing the next couple of entiries. Take it away Caroline .... Yes a road trip was in order and it was an excuse to see the South of Australia! We stayed in Adelaide for 2 days then made our way ...
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia radiojohn... other. (David: Oddly, although it is indeed 500 km from Adelaide and about 800 from Melbourne, why on earth did it take them 30 years to find the place?? I can imagine it taking 5 years or so perhaps BUT there is absolutely NOTHING in the way. It's completely flat. You could walk from Melbourne to Broken Hill in a dead straight line and nothing would get in your way. You wouldn't even need to deviate around a tree. 30 years?? if you were hacking your way through a dense jungle ...
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia dirkmarta... in Broken Hill for onward selling of the meat to overseas markets at $38 per goat. He also told Craig that farms are so arid that they keep one sheep to every 5-8 acres depending on the feed. When we returned to the caravan park, the boys threw themselves in the pool before riding their bikes up and down the park roads. Considering Craig and Dianne were thinking about not bringing the bikes we are glad that we did.
Broken Hill, Australia trenfield5... room to get changed and a small basin with a curtain rail which separates you from one part to the other. There is hardly any room in the basin and the shower head doest spray, it drips out the water. Its like having a strip wash. I found that trying to keep my balance was the ultimate laugh. Its really was quiet funny. Whenever the train jerked I would fall out of the basin and into the dry section, and vice versa. It was like playing ...
Broken Hill, Australia driffting_welshOn Monday we drove for 6 hours through the outback to a place called Broken Hill. This is our first real experience out in the outback and it is true what they say. There is nothing around for miles and miles. We passed two petrol stations in two very small (less than 20 population) towns on the 508 km journey from Adelaide. Oh and about 100 dead kangaroos on the road side. People were waving to us as we passed them on the road as it can be quite sometime before you ...

Broken Hill, Australia feelinfrostyThere was a great night out last night at the Mulga. I wasn't even hung over this morning..i'm so impressed with my liver, haha!! My balance was all out though. I played hockey just before, really badly and found the sun a little bit toooo bright, and the whistle a little bit tooooooo loud. Plus my shoes were really slippery so I had these really random moments where I was running one second, and on my butt the next! Which is fine when you ...
