... Claire just adored, and mobs of large kangaroos that moved in around dusk each evening. The bird life was also abundant with regular sightings of large flocks of black cockatoos and a species of large water bird that flew in perfect V formations across the sky also at dusk.

On our first day of sightseeing we payed a visit to one of the local coffee growers, The Coffee Works. Mareeba, Queensland, Australia serenitynow... in the security of a swimming pool. This time however we were taking off our masks and replacing them on the bottom of the sea bed. Not hugely deep but at 8 meters too deep to shoot to the top in a panic. It all went fine and with the exception of a few stingy eyes there was no trouble. We saw all sorts that day even though it was primarily a skills diving day. The reef was spectacular with all sorts of colours and plants and coral. The visibility depended on the day but ...

Most of the passengers wore white silk shirts or blouses over black pants or skirts … almost certainly the mourners.

I was briefly afraid that our flight might be delayed … the plane had not arrived at boarding time, and we saw a fire engine switch on its lights and head for the runway. Cairns, Queensland, Australia lavis... Matthew was introduced to me, & to say he was easy on eye is a understatement. Everything was going well, he took me away with another man to discuss the dive & said when we are 10 mins away we will get kitted up ready for the dive. I just relaxed but then had sea sickness which has never happened before so just wanted to get there & it took 90 mins. It was then time to get kitted up, I shouted to Matthew that I needed a medium ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia maidykm... to remind myself where I am. I am tired of unpacking and repacking every two days, having to wear flip flops to the bathroom and shower. I am tired of lugging my 15 kilo backpack with me wherever I go, because every time (and I do mean EVERY time) I arrive in a new city, I end up walking the wrong direction to find my hostel! I eventually realize "this can't be right" and it turns out that if I had gone the right ...

Pythons and i am sure they knew i was coming. for this reason i ate what would be my last meal before being consumend by a snake, it didn't matter that my beloved Pure Blonde larger (low carb) was $7 dollars a bottle - Jo realising my growing nervousness at our boardwalk rainforest discovery walk explained that it was ok as only 1.75 people were killed by snakes in any given year in australia. i countered by explaining i knew that out of the top 15 most deadliest snakes, 13 ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia lincolnlady... is partially attributable to the overfishing of its predators from the waters. Overfishing, both outside and inside of Marine Protected Areas, has led to major changes in the natural food chain of the seas. While I had an enjoyable time on the Barrier Reef, I was insanely ****** off at one point. Divers are ambassadors of the seas and all of the life it sustains. We should be solely concerned with the preservation of the life in the seas while also allowing for folks in mostly ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia chiapoe... plantations below misty mountains of rainforest to one side. To the other there were high cliffs overlooking beach after beautiful beach with blue and green waters and huge crashing waves. When we arrived there we were surrounded by all sorts of exotic birds including the 6 foot endangered bird, the Cassowary. We wandered around visiting lizards and seeing the wallabies and crocodile enclosures. The best bit was buying a bag of food and hand feeding a bunch of ...
Cairns, Australia andyandkirstine... of Port Douglas and then when we spotted a large colony of kangaroos (or were they wallabies?) just before we turned off the highway to Trinity Beach. We turned back at a roundabout so we could stop to photograph the bats only to spot even more alog the road later. When the occasional one flew off, they were actually quite large. The evening was spent back at the apartment with a bottle of wine.
