... expected and the road doesn't quite hug the coastline as we had hoped. We stop at Ito Marine World where we hope to find something to eat. There are public onsens, restaurants with outside patios, souvenir shops and an "ashiyu" or hot springs public footbath. It's a nice and sunny day, perfect temperature to have lunch outside. After lunch Juliet and I take our shoes off and enjoy a nice foot bath overlooking the small harbor and the ...

... in Tokyo. On the 51st story there is a rooftop bar that Yuko wanted to take us to. Unfortunately because of the typhoon that has hit Japan, there was a heavy rainstorm and wind that night so we couldn't go to the bar. ... traffic into Tokyo. The journey which took us 2 hours out ended up taking us 5 hours back. There was a consolation though, as this meant we encountered people coming into the station from Shinjuku bars. If you would like to see what obnoxious drunk Japanese people look like (there are far fewer drunks than there are in England it should be noted), please direct yourself to Gabe`s facebook profile for the relevant video.
We again owe our wonderful host Coco a thank you for ...

Mt Fuji

A travel blog entry by alleyeagle on Jun 01, 2014

Using information gleaned from our Japan by rail guidebook we made our way to Mishima station by bullet train in order to get as close as we could for a good view of Mount Fuji. This time we actually saw it from the train and also got a good view from the bus over to Motohakone. Getting off the bus I took a couple of great photos but then a pirate-looking ship was setting off across the lake and we jumped on that, not realising that that would be the end of our views until ...
