Saumur - last stay before Paris

A travel blog entry by anothertrip on Nov 01, 2014

When we arrived in Saumur, on the bank of the Loire River we had planned to visit the Office de Tourism to find accomodation, and hopefuly something self-catering, but the office was closed. We later found out it was bank holiday. However, thay provide such good services that there was an interactive screen so we could look up some hotels. We walked a short distance, along a main street where most of the shops were open and market ...

We left at 9.05 and drove the 93 miles through not very nice weather, arriving at 11.40. Luckily we got on to Pitch H02 which is near the toilet block but also the pool and restaurant. As we had stayed on the campsite before, we knew where everything was, which is always nice. We were actually just above where we had met Eileen and Phil from Ireland 3 years previously. This time, ...

... platform and Les made me slow down. His theory was that if they put a platform with a display case on the line, there must be a reason, so we had to slow down to have a look. Yes, there was a reason. This huge bloody mechanical bat appeared and scared the hell out of me. I think I jumped 10 feet in the air and I'm surprised they couldn't hear my scream of fright in Angers!

But my ultimate favourite was the 4D theatre experience. I ...
