There is an art & design campus as well as a music campus located here - part of Xiamen University. I went in search of the art & design campus. Most impressive and welcoming.
Tonight, actually in 5 hours, I will be on an old style train on my way to Beijing. So this may be my last posting for a little while if the train has no WIFI.
Today the 9 hour train ride from Shanghai ended in the Taiwan Straight city of Xiamen, known as a romantic city on the sea. Indeed, after dropping my bags in a Home Inn that does welcome foreigners, I head to the Jimei school area in Xiamen, complete with a mini lake, dragon boats and pagodas for lovers to sit together and enjoy a warm evening.

"At 10.30 this morning I headed out for the day with someone from the school. We jumped in a taxi and went to see the university and a temple. After that we headed to his for lunch and we played PS3 til 3pm. Then we went out with another group to play a complicated puzzle game. It was a really fun but tiring day" - BigStu
... to Pizza Hut keeping the group waiting (AND they didnt even bring us any! Whats that about!) After some grovelling, all is again rosy in the camp! Last night we were treated to a very posh dinner by Madame Chen, Vice Principal at shaungshi Junior school and one time visitor to Bo'ness. She was a wonderful host and our kids ate well, one of the best meals so far! Lastly to sign off this update - I have now been mistaken for a pupil a grand total of 11 times.
