... from the fire brigade playing the last post to remember the commonwealth soldiers that passed through the gate on their way to the Western Front with thousands never to return. The people of Belgium hold Australians in very high regard and everywhere you go they make you feel welcome.

Tonight we stayed in Lille, France and we are off to explore the WW1 memorials in the morning.

... it was fun trying to work out what the products were and what we needed. We needed bread and mum had to slice the bread herself when we decided which type we wanted. The other families came yesterday, everyone is here now except for one family. We all went for a walk along the beach and to the yacht club, it took forever! Our boats are all there waiting in a container, we have to get them out tomorrow for our first training ...
