... for our gourmet meals, tasted a couple of their 400 beers they produce, enjoyed their cafes and took a canal tour to learn a bit more about the city. It was occupied during the war but not bombed, so it had loads of old world charm.
One of their churches houses one of the 3 remaining statues of 'Madonna and Child", so we enjoyed the cafe on the street, while Helen popped in for a gander.
We also found a Haagen Daz ...

... t have had such a good time if we hadn't known you were taking such good care of him...x 13.45pm we are just about to board the ferry...the skies are clear but it is very windy...just hope ferry's not too bumpy!!! ... so I could stock up on beer. No wonder there are so many booze cruises, we must get stiffed on tax.

Joined the queue to get on the ferry and chatted to some guys from just outside Glasgow who had been touring WWII graves, one of them had a Suzuki Intruder and absolute beast of a bike. Far too much chrome for me would have to spend hours polishing :/

... it was fun trying to work out what the products were and what we needed. We needed bread and mum had to slice the bread herself when we decided which type we wanted. The other families came yesterday, everyone is here now except for one family. We all went for a walk along the beach and to the yacht club, it took forever! Our boats are all there waiting in a container, we have to get them out tomorrow for our first training ...

... with Carolyn and the two couples from North Carolina, as well as Rolinka. We had chosen our menu yesterday morning. I had beef carpaccio as a starter. It was good, but I'm trying not to think about the fact that I ate raw beef. My main was beef "stew" with frites, and dessert was a hazelnut and vanilla mousse, all washed down with a Brugse Zot. Just thinking about dinner makes me sleepy!
