Spine tingling Ypres

From beautiful Brugge we drove south west to Ypres. Along the way we stopped at some of the war memorials to the fallen soldiers. All this area is part of Flanders. We stopped at the Tyne Cot cemetery. It is the biggest commonwealth memorial. It was quite surreal looking at the walls knowing every name on the wall represents a soldier whose body was never found or identified.

... it was fun trying to work out what the products were and what we needed. We needed bread and mum had to slice the bread herself when we decided which type we wanted. The other families came yesterday, everyone is here now except for one family. We all went for a walk along the beach and to the yacht club, it took forever! Our boats are all there waiting in a container, we have to get them out tomorrow for our first training ...

... this. So again I had been given the wrong information at a train station. We finally arrived in Bruges slightly before 3pm. I had told our host, Anne, that we would arrive "about 3pm". The taxi dropped us off at her door at 3.06pm and she said she'd just rang me to make sure everything was ok. I also later found an email from her sent at 3.04pm. ... and I'm sure everyone will tell you this but it's one of the cutest places we visited.

Maybe I'm just feeling lazy today but I'm going to pretend that this short post is intentional. We didn't do or see much here.
