... call him Kevie, isn’t the most coordinated person so it took him awhile to get the hand of things. He was terrible at water skiing, but loved the water raft. He had a few good wipeouts when we made a sharp turn and the raft went flying over the wake. It was pretty cool, and he had a blast. He also loved the Jet Skis. It took him awhile to figure out how to pull up beside the yacht’s fold-down swim platform without smacking into it. I ...
Cala di Volpe, Sardinia, Italy mylifesjourney... that it has a lot in common with the planned community that Disney built, or the planned suburbs of Orange County in California with their gated communities.
There’s nothing wrong with places like these. It’s just not my style. I prefer the unexpected, the genuine, and the gritty. I love the variety of life that a master plan takes away. I prefer the rollercoaster of life over the merry-go-round.
... the morning was pleasantly warm. I was the only one on the sundeck so I was playing my iPod playlists over the sundecks speaker system. Every once in awhile the stewardess would come and check on me and on occasion I could hear someone laughing from the decks below.
The harbor is tucked into the back of a long bay behind the cliff-lined peninsula that Bonifacio is built ...
... but beautiful area. Upon arrival they showed us to our "cabin" which was basic and had a bathroom, kitchen area, living room and bedroom loft. It was simple, clean, and comfortable. We had a great porch with an amazing view over the valley. We enjoyed having coffee out there in the mornings and reading out there in the evenings. All the food was raised and prepared on the farm (cured meats, cheeses, vegetables, eggs, etc). Breakfast was coffee and homemade bread along with ...
Luogosanto, Sardinia, Italy johnandrich... took control of my desires. OK, so I dipped, chilled and bronzed myself before returning to the road. Sartène was beautiful perched on top of the vally. Old stone houses, town full of history and some old tight quarters. From Sartène I decided to take the courtry route back through Mola into a hidden vally. A bumpy old road that attacked my spine. I returned back to the hotel to say an emotional goodbye to the scooter. Red wine was the only remedy.
Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, France broony79... members of the crew were concerned about the age and sanitary conditions of the salami as it wasn't wrapped in plastic and refrigerated all homogenised like at home.... That night we had drinks with our French neighbours on the boat next to us, Christi and Jean Louis. Jean Louis was very entertaining with his views of Italians and had us in stitches. It's funny how the Italians talk about the French and Spanish and the French talk about the Italians and ...
Bonifacio, Corsica, France bellavita... found Claudia & Wolfgang (who were wise not to try and complete the last stage) and went out for pizza. Pizziaiolo for me and vin rouge for all thanking them for getting me through the southern section of the GR20. After 4 bottles of red between 7 the Candians and English lady went back to the hotel. The Germans and I had one thing on our mind, Mojito's. And so it was, cocktails, beer and fusball.
Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, France broony79... low land forests. We certainly did today climbing towards Bocca di u Pargulu (1662m). At this col there are panoramic views of the jagged landscape, the Bavella Needles. Walking through a stoney gully we reached the only chain on the the southern section covering a steep slab. I held back for photos. Unfortunately the occasion must have got to Wolfgang as he twisted his knee on the way up. From ...

Bonifacio, Corsica, France tom-of-boracay... of flowers, singing birds (especially at the campground), and the sight of sparkling blue/green sea water along sandy beaches. These sights, sounds and smells would flourish over the next 2 weeks. We spent our time in Corsica going in a roughly counter clockwise direction, skirting mostly the coast. Starting in Bastia, headed north around Cap Corse, then west to the NW coast town of Calvi, then veered south until midway down the island we headed east from ...
