- Visited a turtle farm and fed the turtles
- literally made a Mexican mans day when we brought drinking coconuts from him
- drive through alcohol store where we did tequila shots and got a beer for the road (they tell us drink driving is ok here)!
Would've loved to go snorkeling too but the centre wasn't open due to rough weather ...
... so trying to get a one-on-one time with any particular speaker was difficult. They even had an attorney do a session on "The State of the Union" which was very one sided. We were not impressed as we didn't feel the conference was the place for it. Needless to say, we didn't attend the entire conference. ... that Matt had only dreamed of up until now! We took a small boat out and it took over an hour to get to where the whale sharks are feeding at this particular time of the year. The excitement we got from when we first saw the giant back and tail fins of the whale sharks above the water was one of a kind. It wasn't long before we saw dozens of them swimming on the surface around our boat and we were absolutely in awe of them.
... the largest one I've visited so far, and the water had a "refreshing" temperature when it came to swim time. The site was fully decked out for tourists, with Mayans dressed up, playing music, and even making tortillas in the traditional Mayan way.
