... and walked all around trying to find them to no avail. No one at the reception desk was very friendly and when I asked about the three different times printed about our arrival in Barcelona one girl yelled at me that I was wrong. That was the end of my happy vacation. Went back to the room and packed and Rachel went to the disco and we got 4 hours of sleep.
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathersThe day as finally arrived to begin our 6 month break, away from the damp, wet climate of Mid Wales. The plan is to drive from here to Portsmouth to catch the Pride of Bilbao ferry bound for Bilbao, a journey that takes about 36 hours. The only part to worry about is the crossing across the ...

Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands jessicahwangSo today was the first day of the official CIEE program in Alicante, Spain. I realize now just how freaking lucky I was to have Elizabeth as my travel companion. I'm so glad it worked out well. We like exploring and we both have enough guts to get us around as well as we're on the same schedule when going out and about around the town and we were able to discover quite a bit just on our own in the last two days in Alicante ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands jessicahwang... this for charity man, stop judging us. Unfortunately, the bus route map didnt help. so, we just followed our compass south until we accidently took a back road to a near by village. Then after seeing non motor way signs to a town we needed to get to we celebrated by sleeping on the grass. After a short sleep we followed the signs, which eventually led us on to a motor way, AGAIN. Nightmare. right, so we just gave up and set up camp in a near by national park ...
El Palmar, Murcia, Spain chris_jones01... we had met and said our goodbyes. A sad moment but hopefully this was the beginning of many more cool moments. well, unfortunately they would not happen this day because shortly after we left i got a puncture, then we got kicked out of an abandoned house we treid to sleep in and had to settle for a dead lemon grove. Well at least we could have a hot meal. or so we thought until we realised that the fuel we ...
Orihuela, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01So Alex had to go back to the consulate in the morning and being true friends me and Olly decided to join him. In the Brittish consulate you basically have about 15 people at any time who have had their passports robbed. During our short stay we spoke to a few fellow British people around us. A particularily funny convosation started with an old british man who was keen to share his words of wisdom, unfortunately, he was not even slightly wise. He started the ...
Alacante, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01... made more funny when Miguel came down and she realised it was him. Awesome we are actually meeting people again. Once we got everyone together (including a few more recruits bringing the total to 11) we headed toward the town centre to find some decent clubs. Obviously during the two hour walk there many funny things happened including when a hooker tried to pull Alex2's pants down ...
Alacante, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01... cupboards and shelves which is an unusual occurrence for a cat. Once we secured everything again, Tom and Zac went back to the laptops as if nothing unusual was happening, Zac watching DVD's and Tom on MSN talking with his mate Cullum. Harri went up with Pete to the helm and berated him for ruining his life and I went to my cabin and hid my head under the dooner. What choice did I have... Fortunately it only lasted for a couple of hours as we made our way into the relative ...
Torrevieja, Spain and Canary Islands bellavita... I thought about that as Chris and I were climbing the fortress pathways within the walls and we were once again looking at some really old rocks! The castle was built in 1555 and was quite interesting. The cannons, so the sign said, were "24 pound cannons" thus named because they weighed 24.75 pounds. Huh? There was a cathedral at the top that we slipped in to pray for a moment. The rain in Spain was once again falling on us. We evidently didn't pray ...
