    We woke up this morning to a gale force wind, dark low clouds and spitting rain. We almost turned over and went back to sleep. But here we were so we packed the wet weather kit and headed for the BlackSeaRama Golf course.     Queen Marie was a grand daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of King Ferdinand of Romania and she built herself a small summer house with just 3 bedrooms in Balchik overlooking the Black Sea where she could be alone with her daughters.     Having heard there were no free slots twice we we trotted along to the pro shop at 9.30 and I was expecting the young lady to phone then but no, the moment she saw me she said "yes it's all arranged your husband is playing Tharacian cliffs at 12.00". Hooray! It was a 1,000 km detour!
    Charlie was partnered up with a young German guy who would have been playing on his own? We were mystified ...

    ... and Golden Sands and by accident we went into the holiday village of Albena and had to take a ticket to get through the barrier. It's an ex Soviet resort, 45 years old, lots of concrete but with modern bits I was quite curious but Charlie started to have a panic attack saying he would pay not to have lunch here.
