We were up and out early today as the rains were said to be coming by early afternoon. The highest point of the island was near our place so we went for a hike. After collecting my snorkeling gear, I was back out around 10ish to take the water taxi to the Island of the Ducks. This was the most expensive part of the day's outings. Between the taxi, the chair rental for 2 hrs, and a soft drink, I spent nearly $30. I should have followed the lead of the Japanese woman with her teenage daughter who insisted that she only rent a chair for one hour. ...

... anthropological museum. The first room had lots of totem-like carvings with faces. I loved them and took lots of photos for Kara since she was interested in tikis and these were very similar. Next was a typical dwelling with a video showing inside. The video was in French so I didn't understand much and mostly looked at the way it was constructed. It was very tall and had mats on the floor. There were outrigger boats of various types, grass ...
