Once again the body clocks got the better of us and we were up at 0630. We waited until the breakfast was ready and went out and were treated to the best buffet we have had in a while. It had the usual ham, cheese, eggs bread and cake but also had yoghurt and cereal. Perfect start for us. We only had one full day here in Natal so we went straight to the beach down the road. The beach there was quite nice and at one of the beach was a ...

Long transit day to Natal

We got up at 0700 and had enough time finish off the packing and eat the provided breakfast at 0800 and leave the hostel at around 0850. Got the bus back to the far end of Ponta Negra where a huge sandy headland is sliding down into the sea – was happy I was not staying in the crowds here as the beach disappeared at high tide leaving everyone cramming the streets, shops & restaurants.

... Drove me and her mute English speaking son, to a totally plastered friend’s place with music blaring out – no way, Jose, so we kept driving around until a tip off from another hostel came up trumps – a nice flat with kitchen, but twice the price.

There was a little local bar nearby with well priced Bohemia and wonderful chicken cozhinos so settled in pretty quickly.
