I think I must be the only tourist in the town! There isn't much to do here except look at churches! I think there must be about thirteen. People keep asking me of I am a pilgrim. I guess Fatima is not far from here and a lot of people go there. Not high on my list. I am going to meet the woman who has the workaway horse farm here and may not meet her for another day so ...

... is that you can't see much in a storm because you are in the middle of it! The rain comes and goes all day but clears off around lunchtime. We take a short walk and stop at a sidewalk cafe for shrimp soup and sardines. The sardines come fried. There are 4 on the plate and they are bigger than we expected, about 6 inches long. They're not bad.

The day dawns bright and sunny. We take a cab to Holiday Car Rentals which we found through rentalcars.com. Sometimes we end up with rather strange car rental companies but the rates are great. We left Porto this morning and arrived in Nazare, an ocean resort village. We have been blessed with 90 degree weather in the third week of October. We headed straight to the sand after checking into the hotel. We sat and watched the sun set and breathed the salt air. There are huge waves that hit here sometime, although today was calm. The world's record for surfing was set here.
