    ... of the battle. The English version of the Blue Angels, the Red Arrows will be there and it promises to be a wonderful show. Unfortunately, we will fly out an hour before the air show begins. So it was fun to watch some of the vintage planes practicing their aerobatic stunts over St Aubins bay today.
    Back at St Helier we caught the city bus up to Andrew and Elaine's home.

    ... 35 minute stop there, and another 30 minutes to Jersey. Flybe is one of those "no frills" airlines, where you pay for everything, including a reserved seats and coffee and tea. We learned our lesson the last time, when we paid $3.00 for a cup of coffee and before it was even cool enough to drink the pilot announced to prepare for landing and they came to take our cups away.

    ... Scary! The Captain spoke in broken English. He announced that we were heading into a storm. We had to leave our proposed course along the coast and go into deeper waters. By midnight tonight the wind rating will be 9 and the waves along the coast 4.8 metres high. This will continue until late afternoon tomorrow. We will have to bypass Nantes and go directly to Bordeaux instead. The wind will still be high but the waves only 3 ...
