Nice relaxed day, went shopping early, there was a M&S opposite the boat so some good old English bacon and sausage was called for then after a hearty full English with French eggs, we headed out to explore round St Peter Port, again with it still being festival time the town was putting free music events on during the day so we stopped and watched some of the free entertainment on offer. After ...

... was certainly hair-raising - racing down the coast again at 10 knots with yacht upon yacht heading the same direction into Guernsey, Peter & Hetty took a more northerly route and they tacked down and across, we passed each other about 3 hrs out of Cherbourg, but we beat them in by about an hour but I was motoring because 'Cats' don't sail so good close to the wind. Monday, I went to the Jersey War Tunnels. These are underground tunnels, similar to those on Guernsey, which the Germans "dug" ...

Never forget that all of St. Peter Port, the capital and principal town of Guernsey is BUILT ON or IN A HILL! Everywhere you go, shops, hotels, restaurants, any tourist spot, you will have to climb up and down steep hills, or lots of steps. So.... the knees are suffering but the calf muscles should be doing well. It isn't helped by the fact that it is fairly hot and humid, though they do get a sea breeze down by the shore.

    Monday, I went and had a ...

... enjoyed a lovely afternoon playing on the beach. However the highlight was a scrumptous afternoon tea of banana splits and chocolate crepes. Yum!

A fantastic time was had on the beach building sandcastles and then trying to race the fast flowing incoming tide as well as watching the crazy French kids going for a dip in the very cold ocean. Well, it was cold for us but as we are in the middle of summer it was obviously not ...
