Today there is just some stones and other pieces of rubble but from what I imagined I think the palace would be really impressive especially for something that was built 4000 years ago.     Today we had a long drive along the highway to Knossos, an archeological site. It was a Minoan palace which is nearly 4000 years old. It was home to a king who asked Apollo for a bull to sacrifice to honour Apollo. The bull was so beautiful though that the king sacrificed another one,which made Apollo angry.     Up and out for breakfast at Agora: potato and greens omelette, grilled mushrooms, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice.     ... taking off from the harbour side runway at Haifa then straight over the med to Crete. The planned route was around 600miles, more than than the 520miles direct due to requested airways route. There were headwinds predicted so I fuelled up with extra fuel, as there were no options between Israel and Crete for landing short for topping up.

    ... We seem to have a knack for wanting to visit places which are being renovated/restored! We enjoyed walking around the old port though - it's very pleasant! There were good views of the 2500m high mountains which still have snow on them!
