... spirits too much. First coffee stop was the excellent motorway services just after Ljubljana - temptingly good food, cheerful, helpful staff! Why can't GB manage this?

A bit more motorway, then off on the 6 towards the Croatian border and our lunch stop in Rijeka. The city is an urban sprawl with a large port, noisy and busy but with some impressive, if somewhat faded, Italianate architecture. We find a nice little trattoria with good food to ease the stress ...

The rain has stopped and it's been a warm and sunny day. It's a "rest day" today with no planned riding, so I explored the local area on foot, including the nearby village of Veli Losinj and the town 4km away of Mali Losinj. Since my last entry we have been everywhere. Tired now so will cover as much as I can. Since leaving Germany we went to Austria, so beautiful just like the Sound of Music and Von traps for sure. Went up a gondola and stayed in a neat little town Kitzbuhel. Then into Croatia down to Zadar, stayed in apartment in the old city.
