Today was a day of travel, and we went from Carlsbad, N.M. to Kerrville, Tx.
We could spend several days here in the hill country of Texas, but we are trying to connect with a family member in Houston and are running short on time, so this may be next year's trip.

We passed thru a few oil towns on the way with Pecos being one of them, at one end of the town was run down with most of the shops closed and once over the rail line a new town has sprung up with a Walmart (of course) with a new sub division of houses and shops.Talking of gas (petrol in Oz) we are paying on average $3:20 a gallon which is about 86c per lt. ...

... had to have warm homemade peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for lunch. Delicious! We're sorry we can't take some of these peaches to Ohio since our peach crop was frosted out this year. We drove to Carlsbad, NM by 8:00PM. After checking out several hotels and being discouraged with their prices we stayed in a deluxe cabin at Carlsbad KOA. After breakfast, we packed up bathing suits, towels, water, snacks and other items, piled in the car and headed back to Johnson City and Pedernales State Park for a day of rock climbing and swimming.

I'm not sure how it started, but they played a trivia game related to the video game (Mindcraft) they all have been playing. It actually was pretty good, Brando, of course, was asking all the questions, but it was like he was reading them instead of just asking ...

... it was dusty and hot, the boys took showers and got ready for bed. They wanted to watch the LEGO Movie so we put it in and they settled in. We were hoping they had worn themselves out, but at midnight I turned the movie off and told them to go to sleep, Aaron was already asleep at the foot of the bed, so all four of them slept on the bed.
