... market, but we only had one night there, barely enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. Compared to other markets and such, we found shopping was better in Innsbruck compared to Munich. Swarovski crystal originated here and so that was also a big shopping draw. Their most recent orb for Christmas is exquisite!

... as it is the month for maintenance and inspections so skiers need to be very dedicated to walk up in order to ski down.

There are tour groups from every country and continent. South Americans, Pakistanis, Chinese, Japanese (they take pictures of everything!) Russians, etc.etc. we did not see any North American tours but lots of North Americans.

... than the tunnels the trip was uneventful til we got to Innsbruck. The Altstadt (old town) christmasmarket had started on the weekend. Our hotel was on the christmasmarket street. After a couple of misses and drive bys we finally pulled into the market, found the hotel and the receptionist told John where the parking was and that he needed to do a U turn and get off the street right away! The car is parked until we leave on Thursday.

... we got up early to get our ski on! (I am never saying that again btw) We made a nice breakfast and made our way to the ski rental place. I have been skiing before, and I know how expensive renting ski gear can be, but I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable and cheap it was to rent things!
