Needless to say, I didn't go in. We left to head back to his apartment.


A fantastic, fantastic weekend spent with Andi and his family. Utterly fantastic.


Things I'm grateful for: Meeting and staying friends with Andi; getting to just enjoy doing normal family/friend things in Austria rather than touristy things; taking 2 cameras with me- T thought it was overkill but he was wrong; being able to feel happy :)

... slept for the next two days. Sunday was a beautiful day, well a beautiful day by Canadian standards. All of the shops were closed, so I took the opportunity to walk around the city without a lot of people on the streets. ... to sit next to this 17 year old German kid who drinks Heineken, smokes hookah and just learned how to use the word "****." He moved to the back to get some sleep for a bit so I'm allowed to write about it.

I can't sleep, there is no wifi and the plug in the seat won't work so my attempts to watch Star Wars have been with no avail.

Hartberg is a very cute little town and our hotel is beautiful! Situated next to the castle, the Alter Gerischtof is sophisticatedly decorated and very well presented. My room is rather large! With big bay windows that open out onto a balcony. The bed is SO comfortable I literally feel like I'm sleeping in a marshmallow. Breakfast is alright... No toast though. And you have to pay for eggs! So I guess it's another week of eating muesli!! On ...
