... into the city where Bern gave as a short orientation and we were free for the next 3 hours to explore. ... for about an hour and went to Garmisch for lunch. The soup is sour and salty tomato soup. Salad with thousand island dressing. Fish and potato (good). Chocolate mousse dessert is alright.

night. Never mind, we knew that Italy would be cheaper than Austria and
Germany. Tonight we dressed up and walked into the city centre with the rain
threatening. I bought an umbrella which clearly prevented the rain. We had an
Austrian meal – I opted just for a bowl of gulasch soup which was quite tasty.
