It’s funny on this journey - there are places that we’ve never even heard of. Little nooks and crannies that provide so much fun and so many memories. Gerlos, for us will always be remembered as one of our favorite places…and so so beautiful.
If you get a chance to visit Austria and Gerlos in particular…go - and if you're not big on heights, trust me you will get used to it - mostly.

Hi everyone, I decided to write an exclusive on Ellmau, as I thought it deserved its own blog.
We're nestled in a village surrounded by the Wilder Kaiser mountains, only half the height of the Matterhorn, but so, so pretty. The next day we had breakfast and then got a personal guided tour of Fürstenfeldbruck. Regina walked us past the river and surrounding wetlands and over to the local monastry, after which the town is named. Apparently a local ruler sentenced his wife to death because he suspected her of cheating on him. He found out he was wrong and build the monastry to pay for his guilt! We came back via the Marktplatz and Steffie found some joy in the backing shop.
The train ride from Vienna was breathtaking as we traveled through a gorgeous valley surrounded by striking mountains. Zell Am See is a beautiful town on a lake in the valley.
