        Beautiful Garden cabanas

Set in beautiful lush gardens with in a tropical jungle. This is a well established cabanas at the edge of Palenque. You can walk to the ruins or easily catch transport. Good food and music nearby. Marguerita is a gracious and caring host and is full of info and stories., She makes you feel right at home., and wants to insure you enjoy yr stay. More than the hostels, but worth it. Very comfortable.

We stayed at Margarita and Ed's cabanas for 2 nights and it was excellent. The location to the ruins is very close, the restaurant next door - Don Mucho's was fabulous and the rooms were spotlessly clean. Despite being in the heart of the jungle, there were no insects at all in the rooms and the grounds were very pleasant. the prices were very decent too. Great stay, would highly recommend it to anyone.

On our last day we are glad to be heading to a series of waterfalls as the weather is extremely
hot and humid. The air is so heavy you feel it feels as if we are wading through cotton wool. We hook up with an organised tour for the falls of Misol-Ha. Our driver speaks no English, as is the case for most locals we've come across during the trip …

... choice. The accommodation was a simple hostel next to a creek deep in the jungle. There is only one real choice of food in El Panchin which is Don Mucho's that serves up a fantastic range of Mexican and European food and has live music every night. Or you can do what the hippies do and live of the magic mushrooms that grow naturally in the jungle surrounding the village. Unfortunately it was the wrong time of the year for ...

Had an OK bus ride to Palenque. We are using a bus company called ADO. Good and comfortable with a loo aboard. J.

Got to Palenque at about 7am and got a taxi to a place called El Panchan. What a chilled place. El Panchan is in the Chiapas jungle situated about 4 kilometers from the town of Palenque. A bit hard to describe the place. It is like a clearing in the jungle where you ...
