Fun fact about the Spanish Canary Islands. They are closer to Africa than they are to Spain. One of the Islands is also the birth place of that language composed seulement of whistling! Very Very cool!

... back and forth to the bar from the pool. Aside from that though it was a gorgeous spot and had some great restaurants along the boardwalk and beaches to check out. After that we drove up the coast to Playa de San Juan and then Puerto Santiago for a great late lunch. On the way home we stopped at Los Cristianos for a look around but it seemed to just be the same as Playa de las Americas but circa 1976. ... castles dating back to the 1400's and new buildings with beautiful facades, it didn't feel like an island at all. This is the playground for Europeans to enjoy beach weather for summer holiday. With temps in the 60's, most people had on winter coats and hats! The wind was sharp coming off the water and the top deck of the bus nippy but it was the best place for pictures.

... flew back from Buenos Aires.

When we arrived it Manchester, it took absolutely ages waiting at the luggage carousel for our cases to arrive. Then it was onto the shuttle bus and back to the long-term car parking, where we picked up our Vauxhall Meriva for the drive back to Durham.

We arrived back home right on the stroke of midnight; the end of another fabulous holiday in some unusual places.Here’s to the next time! ...
