      ... Enroute to Oslob we spent nights in the cities of Ilolio on Panay Island and Damuagette on the interestingly named Negro Occidental Island. In Ilolio Sara opted to try a local desert called Halo-Halo and was quite shocked when it arrived- purple ice cream, flan, green jelly, kidney beans and condensed milk all in one bowl! After lunch and rafting we hiked up to the next pool, about 10 minutes, on a prettier little trail, past couple of little habitations to a pool about half the size of the other, but even prettier and far less crowded. This one was great fun for the kids with a bit of a sloped stream down the rock.       ... and far less hectic. Annoyingly, they wouldn't let me board the plane from Singapore without an outbound flight from the Philippines. This is so annoying as backpackers rarely have such structured plans as to know where they will be in a week, let alone a month!       ... Nico's chicken was 50/50 cooked.
