Milano is a huge modern city and is the northern capital of ITALY.
It's the center of commerce and INDUSTRY and of course fashion. We only had an afternoon and evening so we had to make the most of it.

... tea. A bit more strolling in the afternoon sun and we met up with Mum and Dad for dinner in the Galleria - this time Risotto Milanesse - delicious.
The kids had a ball in the Piazza Duomo climbing all over the statue, in black marble it was boild hot to touch. We strolled home via a grocery store, and didn't realise it was so late (9:30) until we walked into the foyer of the hotel, this late summer sun is fantastic!

Also Wendy is probably almost cured of her fear of tunnels as we lost count of how many we went through in the almost 90 minutes it took to get to Monterosso. ... through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele to get to Via Montenapoleone, Milan's upscale shopping street to droll over the designer apparel. We couldn't resist stopping for gelato which was exceptionally delicious! Just when I thought I was getting the hang of the city, we headed to the Navigli area for "apperitivo"....
