Farewell to Benicassim

A travel blog entry by kayyendole

... the life style of the bourgeoisie of early last century.
It is not the bustling frenzy of some modern resorts, the pace is slower which is what we like, no seedy nightclubs and drunken youths in your face like the early days of ' the Spanish resort'!!!
It has a calm to it.
A lovely sunset on our last evening.

Farewell to Benicassim we could be back next ...

Leaving soon...

Lars and I have spent the last two days obtaining a number called N.I.E. I'm providing you with the Wikipedia explaination....because, even in Spain, most people don't know what the initials actually stand for.

The NIE Number is a tax identification number in Spain, known in Spanish as the “Número de Identificación de Extranjeros”. The NIE Number is issued by the National Police of Spain and in ...

Today was a great day. It started out as normal, me doing school work. Then I went into town and met with a couple friends. Olivia lives in an apartment and she bought Christmas decorations! It was so fun and we had a great time. On my way to class I walked past the mercado, which was all light up! It is so beautiful! ...

5 star service at 3 star hotel !

    from Didster

Spent 1 week at the Flamingo and had a really good time. Despite the name this is a proper hotel, so dont be worried. Very clean hotel, all staff very very friendly and genuine. Food first rate, the best weve had abroad ! Snacks and drinks all day till mid-night if you are all inclusive (well recommended) All rooms have lounge area with tv, seperate kitchen area with hob and fridge, bathroom and bedroom. Air con aint gonna freeze you but its better than nothing, remove your key card from your key ring and leave it in the slot by the door to keep the aircon running while you are out and leave your curtains closed all day as the sun is right in all rooms all day. Nice big double width balconys to all rooms also, great for sitting and admiring the Manhattan style skyline at sunset. Lovely swimming pool though bit noisy when busy. If you value a prime spot for your sun lounger get down to join the q at about 8.30am and wait for the doors to the pool terrace to be unlocked and join the sprint !!!! All the sunbeds are stacked at 8pm nightly which is good. Only saw one cockroach in a corridor during whole stay. Adult entertainment isnt exactly Las Vegas but by then you should be well oiled on the free hooch to even care. Hotel is about 10 minute walk down gently sloping road to beach. Best bars are along seafront, try The Guiness Bar for a top night with live music. Enjoy (-:

    Brilliant

Just returned having spent a week at this hotel. We are a family two adults 2 girls aged 14 and 16

and we all enjoyed it. Food was good and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

The apartments were cleaned daily and towels and bedding changed daily as well

The entainment was ok and the two entertainment girls gave 100% all the time.

I would recomend this hotel to anybody young or old single or with a family.

The only downside was the slight incline back up the hotel was hard going in the heat

    Can't be beat

This is the best 3* hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel is kept ultra clean ( the cleaners are still working at 8-30 p.m.) The pool is clean and healthy, staff very friendly, entertainment varied from karaoke to comedians, illusionists and hypnotists, and thats just on the outside area. Inside there is disco and duo singing. Quizzes, bingo , daytime activities, Adult t.v. room, childrens t.v. room, games rooms, and room for everybody around the pool. Internet cafe, daily papers at reception, vending machines for out of hours snacks/drinks. This is the only hotel we have stayed in that has a full sunday roast as good as england. The food is delicious, plentiful and varied. One of the receptionists is from Kings Lynn and one of the chefs is an ex marine from Portsmouth. Book in you will enjoy !

What can we say absoutely brill best hotel in benidorm

    from anonymous

We have stayed at the flamingo twice recently once in summer and once in winter, we think it's a brilliant hotel which cannot be faulted on anything, we enjoy benidorm and have visited on many occasions and stayed in various accommodations, but this hotel is the best there is and we would not stay anywhere else in benidorm now.

We were there in feb 2004 and hope to return in oct 04

    Its Great!

    from anonymous

I went to the Flamingo Bendidorm about a year ago and my parents are trying to save up some more money so we can go again this year because it was so excellent. I loved it! The food was superb and the appartments were spacious, they were nothing you would expect for a holiday. I had just so much fun! I recommend this holiday for everyone!

    Loved it

    from anonymous

Had a great time. the hotel was lovely and the rooms were spacious and kept clean daily. the food was good and was available all day, which was great. the barmen were very entertaining and they were the highlight of the hotel, so if you see, thomas, maninolow, raya and alex say hi to them for me, oh, and ask raya to make you a coctail, he makes great ones, the best was called sex behind the bar. if you get a chance to stay there, then do it, but if your young go in june or july as i went in march and it was full of old people who named me the p*** head and the entertainers called me the nutter when i sang my kareoke.

looking forward to going back soon

Saving Hard To Go Back AGAIN

    from anonymous

Went for a 'girlie' holiday with two of my sisters. We laughed and had fun from beginning to end of the holiday. Food was excellant, staff very very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Ideal location. About ten minutes walk to the beach and bars. About 20 minutes stagger back from the bars!!!! Close enough to shops, bars and beach but far enough if you want to get away from everything. Came home with post holiday blues. Decided to learn Spanish, saving hard to go back. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE HOLIDAY.
