We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only slight downside is that we didn't realise how far it was from downtown Dubai (thats not the hotels fault and the Metro is easy to navigate!). Service was brilliant and the room was large and clean with everything we needed in it. No complaints at all, great value for money.

Part 1 - Paris We jumped into our taxi at 7am, bleary eyed but all good. It was a good idea to prebook the taxi on Saturday as the train strike is still ongoing which not only makes it hard to get a taxi as they are so busy but the traffic was gridlocked, even this early. Lucky this was traffic heading into Paris, the trip to the airport was pretty …

... saw a peregrine falcon display, boring and spent an hour bouncing over the sand dunes. We have a BBQ style dinner in a massive Bedouin tent. There was a gorgeous belly dancing display. Very sexy, but in a feminine and tasteful way. There was also a camel ride..once again a bit boring. They had smoking pipes, which of course I tried but Grant didn't. Much more enjoyable than the cigarettes I remember! I only had a couple of puffs, and still felt a little light headed. We travelled ...

We revisit the Kaleidoscope yet again for dinner (it is that good) and enjoy another pig out. We go back to our room and check and pack our bags in preparation for the plane trip back home tomorrow.

Whilst It is disappointing the weather has restricted us today to effectively a rest day, it is nonetheless ...

... of the Ferraris! It was a beautiful walk through the granite streets and onto the beachfront however the heat and humidity was so staggering that it was very uncomfortable (at least 45degrees!!!!)Even our Qatari "tour-guides" were struggling and they are used to the heat! So after about an hour of perseverance and around 2 litres of sweat lost we decided to refresh ourselves at the Meydan beach club with some much needed Mojitos. They were defiantly needed however with 1 ...

Upon arrival to the Ahmedabad Airport, I was one of the first people off the airplane; quite thrilling actually! I was 20th in the very long line to go through customs; I was in and out within 10 minutes; a first. Thank goodness for the large wedding party that helped me get my luggage quickly of the carousel. I must have been out of the airport within 20 minutes of getting off the airplane.
