Our hotel was in the old city which made it an ideal place to explore the area. It was in walking distance to the various souks. Clean, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff.

Asked hotel service twice for additional bath towels and face washers - still waiting
Though non-smoking I have my doubts as room had a smell (not necessarily smoke) on entry

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only slight downside is that we didn't realise how far it was from downtown Dubai (thats not the hotels fault and the Metro is easy to navigate!). Service was brilliant and the room was large and clean with everything we needed in it. No complaints at all, great value for money.

TRAVEL DAY - Dubai to Adelaide

Having arrived at the hotel through a quick transfer from the airport we settled into the room for one sleep.

Been in the hotel now for 12 hours and Ros appears to be a little better so hopefully the long flight to Adelaide won't be quite as bad as the flight from Paris for her. She was very …

    Our holiday has started!

We arrived into Dubai International airport from Adelaide on time at 5.15am with Emirates (12.5 hrs flight). Then it took about 20 min for a bus to transfer us from Terminal C to the Terminal B arrival lounge. Dubai Airport is spectacular and huge.

Eventually we found our way to the Arabian Adventures …

I went to bed somewhat early last night, still exhausted from the long trip over. I was the first one up this morning. Something about waking up in a new place always seems surreal to me, as if it's all just a dream. The exciting part is, of course, that it's all real. ...

... day there, it was great fun. About a dozen waterslides of varying levels of scariness. There was the Leap of Faith which was an almost vertical drop which both us went on first. They tell you to keep your feet crossed and I can tell you why as my feet came apart on the first slide and the jet of water almost sent the gonads back to where they descended from. There was another called Poseideon's Revenge where you went into ...

AM - The Emirates Boeing 777 300E left Dubai right on schedule, we now have 12 hours of flying to endure; meals, movies, meals, music, meals, toilet breaks and some sleeping? I requested seats right at the back of the plane with nobody behind us, looked like a good idea, we got them but were next to the toilet! The toilet door was opening and closing all day (night?) and flushing, perhaps not such a ...
