      ... Me being me i picked the Lebo place and we got some mighty fine Shawarmas. Ryan phoned us on my dads number amd said he was headed over to meet us. The main teason for going to Dubai Mall was to get me a sim card so i can phone and text people while in Dubai without having to find wifi. Ryan said he would meet us outside etisalat which was perfect. The que in Etisalat was gigantic, think this was due to it being a public holiday ...

      ... desert. We watched a falconer do his thing with a falcon then had a very fun and bumpy 4WD trek through the dunes stopping for a photo opportunity to watch the sunset. After this we had a dinner which was amazing, I love middle eastern food, especially the way they cook their meat. We also took the opportunity to enjoy having a smoke through one of the hurbly burbly, sheesha water pipes (or hookah or big bong). The tobacco tasted like lollies and was apple flavoured. ...

      ... Call bells were ignored, meal service and collection was sparse, and the crew were generally dour. It was surprising considering this airline is always being lauded as one of the best. I was enjoying Emirates Economy Class enough that I actually thought I wasn't missing Business Class. At least that was until I tried to have a sleep, and couldn't quite contort my body into anything resembling a comfortable position.

      The terminal was like a vast cathedral with apparently stained glass windows ( I may have this wrong ) and after an easy disembarkation ( late boarding => early exit ) and a worry about where the next flight gate was I had time to wander round the noisy active shopping area.       I had the customary champagne before take off and then became a Hobbit and had my second breakfast after an hour or so. It was hopeless trying to sleep so I may as well eat to pass the time! I've noticed they don't use those metal aisle trolleys in Business, but bring everything on trays - with proper linen napkins!
