... warm enough to sun ourselves on the beach, but the water was too cool to swim. The next day we packed our bags for a 2 hour ferry ride to Santorini. During breakfast wet met a nice couple from Broome Australia. They have been travelling for 3 months in Europe and we had many travel stories to share with each other. We were sad to leave the friendly hospitality we received on Naxos island but anxious to visit the famous Santorini island.

... but with the wind stronger than the day before and the sky looking rather bleak we were not too fussed. The fact that we had seen little of the island didn't overly play on our minds as we had used the time to relax and plan the next month of our trip in addition I think that we were a bit depleted when it came to caring about ruins, churches and temples.
So it was off to the port where the real Greek adventure began.

Christine does in again, picking some island I had never even heard of - Naxos. I got up early to go for a wander and get some breakfast. We are 130M from a protected sand beach that has a few restaurants and boat rental places on it. The water is shallow for a bit with some great colors. We are in and amongst a neighborhood of white plaster homes of which many seem to have been converted to holiday rentals. ...

Today is our 21st wedding anniversary. What a place to celebrate it. After breakfast we spent the entire day at the beach, Agios Giorgios. This beach is just gorgeous, and amongst the best on Naxos. Apparently the best beaches are on the west coast, and this one did not disappoint. The water is crystal clear and at such a nice temperature.
