Today was a bit of a test run for doing our walks and hikes through the cities of europe we will visit in the next couple of weeks. Today we were going to find out way through the old city, through the central squares and then up through the covered arches all the way to the Basilica San Lucca. An early morning walk through the tight streets of Venice and you can see why everything here is so dear. Absolutely everything is carried in or out. First thing this morning we got to see the rubbish run guys with their carts lifting them over the stairs bridging the canals, the laundry / linen guys doing the same from their trips around the hotels and the delivery guys doing their runs of replacement stock for the shops. We see a lot of TNT delivery trucks ...
After coffee thought it was time for a bit more history so went to the nearby Palazzo dell Archiginnasio once Bolonga's main university building dating back to the 16th century.

Walked to to the nearby shopping area on the suggestion of reception to find a cardboard tube for some photos etc with no success & quickly got over that plan in the mid day sun. All felt it was a bit mundane & close to reality visiting a shopping centre on holiday!
