... firm that sold motorhomes, caravans and accessories. As we have a need for fresh supplies of exciting stuff like toilet fluid we went in search. Having driven 30 miles we found it tucked down a side street with three motorhomes, four caravans(one rusty) and one bottle of toilet fluid. Result! Following on this success we visited the walled town of Obidos that was traditionally given by the King to ...
Peniche, Estremadura, Portugal mikeandsuecuffFatima
On the 13th of each month from May to October 1917, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to three shepherd children - Lúcia dos Santos (age 10) and her cousins Jacinta (age 7) and Francisco Marto (age 9) - in the fields outside the village of Aljustrel near Fatima. The children later said that her coming had been preceded by an "angel of peace ...
Fátima, Estremadura, Portugal ulka... was the miracle of the sun.

Two of the three children didn't live very long after that. They died in the Spanish flu epidemic.

After walking around the chapel and all, we went for lunch in a hotel. The lunch was salad, mackerel with rice, and fruit dessert. I ate a lot, mixing the salad with the very salty mackerel. A few ladies on my table didn't eat the mackerel.... complaining that ...
Fátima, Estremadura, Portugal astreIn the morning we went to Obidos, an old castle/city. There was a medieval festival the day before (just ended the day before or we would have seen people dressed in Medieval clothings!). Because of the end of the festival, we couldn't really go anywhere. So we ended up just climbing up a wall, took ...

Fátima, Santarém, Portugal donwen... we had a beach to get to. And what a beach it was. The Praia del Rey hotel is situated on a beautiful stretch of coast lined with cliffs on the edge of incredible beaches that were almost always empty. Each time we went out to sand we were almost alone for a mile in each direction. In the five nights and days we spent along the Obidos area coast we sat by the pool and the osean, read books, napped, drank beer and wine and took the occasional evening trip to one of the local villages for ...

Nazare, Estremadura, Portugal savla78... us from the fires of hell." All of the kid's parents did not believe that Mary was appeared to them; they were ridiculed and called liars by everyone in the town. After many visits of our lady to the children her final words were that, she was The Lady of the Rosary. That we must pray the rosary for repentance of sins everyday, after her final words the Sun began to dance across the sky, the people of Fatima were terrified but ...
Fátima, Estremadura, Portugal scboettcher... anyone? We set our tent up in the howling wind, threw as many rocks as we could muster up onto the fly and tried to work out a way to accquire a van. If only we spoke Portugese. Next day we had most of our washing done and tied to the clothesline due to lack of pegs and clearer heads on what the next step is to be. An orange hippie dress brought from India and purchased by us has turned some of our washing into a slightly sickening shade of mustard-y-orange and we now ...
