The flight went on and on but I sat next to Mike, a fireman from Vancouver, who made me feel that my long day was nothing to worry about. He had been to a mates wedding in Wanaka and was heading back to Canada. ... passing Yoyogi Park - the site of the Tokyo Olympic Village). The shrine was set in a beautiful park and was very peaceful even though there were a lot of tourists (some more Western ones but again, like yesterday, very few (and none on the trains which we took today)). Locals bring their babies to be blessed at the shrine and also get married there. We saw some very cute little babies and a lot of wedding guests in kimonos - very beautiful - alongside guests in posher ...

... block. We were like a line of ducks following the momma.

The New Sanno was startling. I didn’t think we could afford this hotel with a five star appearance. The lobby was cherry wood and just exuded elegance. Our rate was an unbelievable $45 a night. The kids didn’t waste any time going to the indoor pool. There was a nice coffee shop, a ...
