We arrived at Zabaykalsk at about half 5 in the morning. It was the 3rd day in a row we saw the sunrise. We spent 12 hours crossing the border between Russia and China!! The timetable had us down for approx. 6 hours at each border station which we couldn't believe could possibly be true – but it was!! The trains in Russia and China run on different gauges so the bogies (wheels) are changed at the border.
Tho toilets closed an hour before we reached the border - no using toilets whilst bogies are being changed (for obvious reasons!), but ...
