Tamaki Drive flooded this morning meant gridlock traffic exactly at peak hour. The reason was because of the edge of the cyclone that recently hit Queensland. Strong wind, stormy driving rain and broken trees. 45 mins from house to work at Onehunga. So I left at 715am arriving just after 8am. I didn't have patients til 9am so no drama. Today was busy. Part of the short week. Weather turning into serious autumn now. All of the ...

Rach didn't want to jump and then see me arrive at the bottom in the lift. Video says ...

... was a trip to complete the Tongariro crossing which is apparantly one of the top 10 walks in the world (!) so I headed out to do that and therefore had to wake up at 4.45am! Rest assured I was not to be dissapointed. The walk was simply incredible. Never before have I even come close to seeing the sights of that day. The distance you could see and sheer volume and variety of landscapes was stunning. The walk is 19.4km and you have the option to climb Mount Doom (from Lord of the Rings) ...

... moment getting in to a map, and a night out in flip flops ( for those of you who know my usual heel reliance this is probably the most shocking! Myself and Grace explored Auckland docks before moving on to climb Mt Eden - not only did we get to see the stunning panoramic views of Auckland but I topped the happiness charts by indulging in some fresh sushi at the top, and we saw the cricket World Cup ...
