... and I then caught the train from Burpengary Station through to Varsity Lakes Station down near Reedy Creek (just outside of the Gold Coast)- to stay with Lee's Aunty and Uncle. Lee's Uncle Mark picked us up from the station and took us back to their beautiful home. We all had a drink together and then Lee and I jumped in the pool- it's still sooo warm at 10pm!!!!! It was great to meet up with them and their son Chris again and we felt privileged to be staying in their beautiful home in the Hinterland. The house is surrounded by its own private rain forest and a tropical pool ...

A short drive away is a lovely picnic area and another beach which is quieter and popular with the hippies. We had a picnic, met an interesting Scots man (who we hope to never meet again) and had a good time playing on the beach.

Surfers is not somewhere i will be going to again, but glad that i had the chance to see it.
