... everything right. The kids are helping us and all looks great. A car rolls up and out pops a fat man claiming to be the site manager with his wife. They have been out all morning and apologise to us that we are going to have to move our tent because it's too close to the next unoccupied site, 3ft would do it What happens next is difficult to fathom but all the bile and rage of everything going wrong in this trip comes out. The bloke looks stunned but ...

... the brilliant idea of netting off the river between the breakwater and the shore, adding sand and making their own little beach. A very beautiful setting. A short drive later we were in Medowie where we stocked up on food from the local supermarket, and had a meat pie for lunch from the bakery. Medowie is in the Port Stephens municipality, and is quite a busy little town. As we drove the next short distance to stay ...

We discovered a great little town today, called Tea Gardens. It was just near Hawks Nest and over the Singing Bridge. Aren't they just the cutest names? Hawks Nest is named after a hawk's nest (duh!) that was used as a navigation point for entering the channel. Tea Gardens has nothing to do with Devonshire Teas, but apparently there used to be lots of Tea Trees in the area, and the Singing Bridge can actually make a tune as the wind blows through the pylons! Herein ...

... if you are lucky whales can be spotted. OK...we wanted to test our luck. We went up to the lighthouse and even a little boy who told us there is a snake up there could not stop us. We started to be loud to worn the snake and went up. Arrived and just 5 minutes later we really saw a blow not so far away and soime minutes later they really started to tail slap and jump again...what a wonderful world ;-) We just need to find out why they are doing this. Is it because of mating, ...

Anna Bay another wonderful scenic waterway.

... came to our site and were obviously fuming when told she had taken him back as they had spent 4 hours charging the bloke and obtaining a Violence Restraining Order for her. They wonder why people do not want to get involved in domestics when this is the result, she obviously has such low esteem that she does not even consider what damage it is doing to the kids. Offcourse the root of the problem is alcohol.

Departed Anna Bay for Camden on March 7th.
