... beach. Also got pestered to death by guys offering taxi rides and trips. Got so fed up so came back to ship for lunch and to spend time on pool deck.
Didnt go to see the cliff divers - just didnt feel interested in watching people jump into the water no matter how spectacular they keep saying it is.
Still enjoying life on board. There ...
... Scouting out our lounge chairs we decide to go to the ocean beach first.
Armed with only towels we head to the beach. The first sign says ‘Due to extreme currents and high waves, swimming not recommended’. Well, we weren’t planning on actually swimming, just checking out the beach. We keep going. Off the sidewalk and onto the sand. Hmmm...forgot how damn HOT the sand can get. Especially in 102F ...
From the ship we boarded a bus for a tour of the city. It took us around the bay
of the city. Then a Short street to the Pacific side where the
Cliff divers are. We were able to shop for about 30 minutes, then went through the la brea hotel to
look at the cliff where the divers jump from ...
ACAPULCO
First stop on the cruise is beautiful sunny Acapulco Mexico.
Due to some wind and rain last night the ship is about 2 hours behind schedule.
We will be docking in Acapulco around 2pm or 12 noon Pacific time.
We are only here about 5 hours and have booked a tour of the Cliff Divers and Acapulco City ...
Hey!
I went to a big archeological site north of Mexico City called Teotihuacan, to help tear down the rest of the ruins by walking on them. We were not many tourists there, because it´s low season right now I guess. It´s not often you wish you were surrounded by more tourists but when hawker outnumber it´s preys (tourists) 3:1 you get the eyes of every single hawker on you. To Mexican hawkers credit they usually walk away after just one "no".

The past fews days I got to see some of the country. In just a short time, we were in the middle of the mountains, where the views were beautiful. We first stopped in a town called Morelia, which was old and quaint...it reminded me a lot of the styles of buildings in Spain. We stayed in a town called Patscuaro which was filled with markets and vendors. There were shops of all kinds! I bought a really pretty shirt for $100 pesos...which is ...

Accommodation
Patzcuaro offers an excellent range of places to stay with the best deals to be found in the centre of town. Your other option is to stay three kilometre's out of town on the road that leads down to Lago de Patzcuaro, from where the boats depart for Isla Janitzio. Where ever you decide to stay make sure to ask for a bit of discount as all the places that I looked at would drop their rates ...
Patzcuaro, Mexico violette-mauve... far. Leaving my acquaintances of the last few days I headed into the plazas to see what I could see.... FOOD! Lots of it. Everywhere! In all forms - breads, chocolates and other numerous other sweets. And skeletons, lots of them in all shapes and forms, including chocolate, and children who roamed around seeking 'treats'. The next day (after my first decent coffee since the US) I headed for Isla Janitzio, a little Island 30 mins by boat and supposedly ...
