    ... Lincoln so after a stop at Cold Stone for ice cream on arrival we toured about to see his tomb. Passed the State capital building too which was impressive.

    Bob Evans diner for dinner so managed to source vegetables. Succumbed to the chocolate cake dessert too. Mmm. Piccies to follow once my photographers have their act in order;)

    Our first Roadside Amercia stop was a Spartan Statue at a local High School. It was hilariously awful - you can tell that it started out as a Viking before "being turned into" a Spartan.     Left Bloomington and rejoined the original road after a short stint on the interstate. Followed Route 66 as it wound it's way past McLean before making a stop in Atlanta. I was very fortunate to arrive at the right time to be allowed to see the inside working of the clock tower just prior to the chimes for 10am.     ... down for the night. Lincoln was the next stop on the list were there was a few tense moments as I wanted my pic taken with the giant abe Lincoln but kept driving in circles. We found it in the end and then headed out to williamsville to see the 1930s gas station.
