Gulls wheeled overhead; it was really a timeless scene. I looked for Byron’s name among all the rest but couldn’t find it. ... time to catch the bus back to Athens.

Because the rest of the day had gone so well, I think one misfortune was due to us. The bus didn't go back the way that it came, which we didn't realize until the bus was stopping at the National Gardens' side of Syntagma. We realized too late that we should get out there, and so decided to continue on to the next stop. Which didn't come for what seemed like forever...and when it did come, it was in Omonoia--not a place ...
