    The past few weeks since visiting Leeds have been both quiet and busy. On September 1st I handed in my dissertation, and officially completed the last piece of school work ever. In all honesty handing it in was quite anticlimactic. While it feels good to be free, my mind immediately turned to the task at hand - leaving England.

    ... a peek in Ripon cathedral. We have a lot of cathedrals on the list to see... I'll have to decide if one is my favorite. Then it was west to Thirsk. Thirsk is the home town of the vet that wrote the James Herriot books, which Dad is a big fan of. We toured James Wights house/practice and even played some games there. Across the street is our b&b so we have a peaceful night before another big commuting day tomorrow when we'll drive to York and board the train to London ...

    Toby and I checked into our room. We enquired about a gym, the hotel said they had a partnership with a gym 5 minutes walk away, it costs 6pp and we had to do an induction. What is with hotels charging premium rate for a hotel room and then the customer having to pay to use the facilities they advertise they have on the Internet??
