The marshes surrounding the estuary are grazed by sheep owned by one farmer who discovered that his sheepmeat had a different flavour produced by the marsh grasses and the meat was much sought after. We didn't really fancy staying there and paying 8€ for the privilege! We did fork out 3€ for 10 mins of water. It never takes 10 minutes to fill our tank as it's never completely empty. Lunched there and then set off to find a Super U for fuel and gas. Found that and did yet ...

... br> A riverside walk brings you to ........It is a perfect example of a medieval way of life:an Abbey with its grounds & cloisters & living quarters; surrounded by the cottages of those who worked for the Abbey and a fortress on the hill to protect the Abbey. It has been beautifully looked after, preserved and conserved but not to its detriment and very peaceful.

We then went to Equry, home of the scallop. Sadly not in season when we were there, but in season elsewhere ...
