... We kept looking for a place to buy our fruit tarts but there wasn't anything until we rode down a steep narrow exceptionally busy hill and into Cancale. It's obviously a hugely popular holiday place with lots of shops and restaurants on the beach front. The tide was out there too and boats were lying on their side on the muddy sand. The traffic was bumper to bumper so there was no point trying to ride so we walked our bikes along the street and in ...

It was a lovely ride out to the coast and then along the seafront to Le Vivier-Sur-Mer, a busy port town where mussels and oysters are grown and harvested. Our itinerary says 48 kms today from Fougeres to Pontorson. This morning we were treated to 20 kms of cycle paths through pretty farm land and acres and acres of maize fields. It looked like it may have been a rail way track in years gone by and there was the odd tunnel but otherwise no sign of any tracks. Our first stop was at Antrain where we ended up coming into town completely the ...

We woke up at 10:00 and took the metro to the Gare Saint Lazare. Once we got there we were confused about where to go. After we asked around we figured out that there was one section for local trains and one for the grand lines. We made our way over to the grand lines and found the train that went to Lison. After waiting about fifteen minutes we got the track number and got on the train. We found some seats and ...

... wandering through the charming streets and around the ramparts before the long trek back home again.

We then spent a well earned lazy evening watching Top Gun and eating maltesers.....well sometimes you just need those English home comforts!

In the morning we walked to the little beach and caught the end of the beautiful sunrise before heading off to the boulangerie for our daily baguette ;0)
