... they were pretty obliging. As were a couple of Maccas employees, who let us use the wifi, then found one of their colleagues who spoke English. Anyway to cut to the chase, we arrived with 5 mins to departure time, however the lift was out of order, and as our train was leaving from the second storey concourse, we took the escalators. This morning was grey, wet, and the long drive took it's toll on our enthusiasm for Chateau D'Oiron near Loudun. Coming home with provisions fresh from the farm for the next two days we waited out thethunderstorm which finished a small heatwave of 34 degrees. At eight we were seated in L'Aigle D'Or for what turned out to be a special night of good food and some old wines. A 2008 sancerre and a 1999 medoc after a cremant de Loire had us in the mood to open up just like the ...

... cinq, quatre et quatre. The man had no problems with this but unfortunately Lily and Ruby did and apparently they have been picking up some French along the way because they very quickly pointed out that no one was 5 and even helpfully counted up to 6 in French to help prove their point. I was asking them to just leave it alone and Jess was explaining to them that they were still learning French. They are such argumentative so and so's that they ...
