... main dining hall, there was another large room with a billiards table. After that, is the chapel, which has been remodeled complete with pews, altar, and stained glass windows, which were made by the brother of Stephanie’s grandmother. We went upstairs and explored through all of the bedrooms, of which there were 10-15, we can’t remember exactly. There were about four bathrooms. None of this includes the apartment that was ...
Charroux, Poitou-Charentes, France thematts... around the pool in the sunshine for a week, until the weather changed and became more autumnal. Helene left us after a fez days, and we stayed on our own in coussay whilst papa, maman and granny went back to Thouars. It's nearly the end now, only one more stage until we come back home!
Coussay, Poitou-Charentes, France natsandfrancois... down the Nile, felt the effects of a meteor hitting the earth, dodged dinosaurs and experienced the lunar landing from the viewpoint of an animated fly.
We reached another Howie milestone when both parents chickened out of the dancing with the automated robots. The boys described this experience as 'awesome'. We will take their word for it.
Our campsite tonight is a special Campervan designated carpark, a bargain at only 6 euros, we just need to be on our way before 8am.

What else, window cleaning - I am disturbed to have the 'satisfied by window cleaning' gene, but I do, so I shall embrace it! Moving wood to the wood pile and the poplar sticks for kindling - again, hot work in this weather. Bumping off, plucking, learning about gutting and eating one of the cockerels (not sure of it's age, so maybe a rooster) - it was interesting to see it done as they shoot them with an air rifle, of course, it's ...
... and found another free camping spot. However, this place wasn't so luxurious. In fact as we were going to bed some french kids started drinking on a bench a few yards away. Olly had a go at some manly stuff and tried his hand at fishing. Need I say he failed. Fish don't like pain au chocolat. But on the plus side we saw a frog the size of a puppy.
... up starkers and thrust the window shut with the pole do-da you have for it. It did occur to me that such things were probably not best done when lightening is striking, but I'd already had a shower so desperate measures! There were some barmy little rain-beetle things in my room that appeared to suffer from vertigo as they climbed up the wall, suddenly stopped then fell flapping to the floor whereupon they flew maniacally around the room buzzing and then started it ...
Poitiers, Poitou-Charentes, France rowan123... right and go into the old part of the city. Down a small narrow road, I see a very old building; looks like it may have been an old church, maybe a convent. Not sure. I stop and take a picture of the Cross that is built within the wall. To my left I see a sign that says Lavoir. It is pointing towards the old town. Lavoir is a very old term that means Public Wash House ! ( You can find some of these at waymarking.com ) I am enticed by the old city and decide to drive through it. It is ...
Poitiers, France padalecki... those particular details. I needn't have worried. Nobody noticed my crime and the TGV staff at Gare Montparnasse were charming and helpful. Their very helpfulness was to cause serious difficulties on our final train trip, many weeks in the future. The young lady behind the counter filled in the part of the form which I was supposed to complete, and not only that, she filled it in incorrectly. I pointed out the error and one of the other TGV staff wrote an explanation beside ...
Poitiers, France cullism... And then the prof talks about similar **** for 2 hours and it is very difficult to follow what he says. And, of course, since French psychologists actually like Freud (in fact, they venere him as the supreme entity of all of psychology, unlike in American/Canadian universities where they make it a point to explain why his theories, albeit cute, aren't valid) the prof says that the image one has of his body is that of a bag, with both an exterior and an interior, and ...
