There were many people surfing, so I was easily entertained for the rest of the day. We went and got fish and chips for lunch and had a picnic right next to the beach. Our first tour of the day was the Sydney Opera House. What a fascinating building with a fascinating history (The chosen design disobeyed the competition guidelines, was woefully incomplete, but fit within the $6 million and 3 year constraints. We particularly liked a David Hockney work with a mercurially rendered swimming pool (http://www.hockneypictures.com/works_p aintings_70_06.php) as well as an elegant Lichtenstein painting (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_ Car). We learned a good deal about Andy Warhol, including that he was a ...

The family lives about 30mins out of the city and is in a very nice suburb (Ringwood) surrounded by lots of trees.
