Lima is a mix of wealth and poverty. Plaza Mayor is the central square and is surrounded by beautiful buildings, including the Presidential Palace and the Cathedral. A sign of your status was the elaborate wooden balcony, usually at the front of your premises. The cathedral was stunning and split into 20 odd alcoves on the inside, each containing statues and related religious artefacts. The San ...

I know, I know--it has been a long while since I have blogged about my latest exploits. I warned you all, my faithful readers (and by that I mean my aunt Doris), that I would not always post everything in real time. Well, I took a break from many things during the month of August as I transitioned to Lima, and blogging was just a part of that break. I took a bit of a vacation from my vacation if you will. At the ...

... some throat gargling stuff for her to get through the day. When we got home we decided to go to the shopping mall down the road to check it out. They have the stores like banana republic, gap, Nike, Adidas and all the American types of stores here so it was a bit of fun looking around. Then we went across the road to the Marriott hotel as we had decided that nothing could be possibly better than a good massage. The Marriott, living up to its reputation is ...
