Another early wake up but not too bad after a good night sleep :) Hotel pickup and transfer across this massive city to meet a guide and explore :) Two hours in traffic!!! A fact of life in a Capital city these days - chaos reigns supreme - no real road rules at crossings and intersections, there are some traffic lights but no one seems to move in some areas - apparently it's bad now as school has returned and ...

Good nights sleep feeling pretty good. Beautiful day blue sky - not expecting that! Temperature Approx 24 perfect with breeze. Had great cab driver Oscar who gave us lots of tips and took us to down town Lima to Plaza de Armas. Visited La Catedral - good guide - very interesting lots of history to take in. Beautiful mosaics and Spanish tiles. Amazing boxed nativity scenes. Plenty of holy relics enshrined in gold. Next, time for changing of the guard - ...

... art museum. They had a couple of exhibits that focused on the dictatorships and mass disappearances during the 70's and 80's in Peru, Chile, and Argentina. It felt more like a history exhibit than an art exhbit, but I guess they are two sides of the same coin.

Last night we went to a karaoke bar where we met up with Jorge's other sister, Cecilia. She's my age and really down to earth and friendly. We sat talking and drinking for a couple of hours and it was a ...
