rob- bula t'po fans from fiji!!! we are now back in nadi after returning yesterday from our feejee experience trip. we all had an ace time on the trip, we met some great people and got to to some fairly random but enjoyable stuff!! below i put down a brief description of each day on the trip. day 1 we went into nadi town which is as jim mentioned before is nothing special but we did make some intersting purchases there. three very feminine looking sarongs were bought as they were compulsory f...
Nadi, Fiji adsrobjimStill feeling a bit delicate then, we were up early on Saturday to be ready for our pickup at 8:15 by the Fiji Experience bus. The bus turned out to be a little older than it had been made to look in the promotional brochures - certainly authentic Fijian! Our guide (Anna) welcomed us aboard and, after picking up some more of the group and explaining the package, we set off first to Nadi town. We had an hour in Nadi to bu a sarong for me (don't worry - it was compulsory on village visits appar...
Navua, Viti Levu, Fiji ajbattyWe got back to Nadi last night from the Fiji Experience. We had a brilliant time, we traveled to Suva from Mango Bay resort near Natadola beach, on the first day we did a treck through the rain forest, walking about 5km through a stream in the forest valley and getting wet. At the end of the walk we rafted down a river on rubber tubes and then went to a waterfall and did some swimming and diving in of the cliff into the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. To finish the day of we had a long b...
Nadi, Fiji danandlucyDuring my travels to date, I've been on a lot of trips, but this four day trip has to rank amongst the best I've been on! It had everything and gave a very positive view of Fiji and the Fijian people. I'll split the story into each day: Day One Got up early and finished sorting my bag out, before heading towards reception to wait for the bus to arrive. As I was early for once, I joined a few other people in watching a bit of Liverpool v Barca in the Champions League in the TV room before we l...
Viti Levu, Fiji dmp3380Hello, Well Fiji really is fabulous! We have had a great week at the Mango Bay Resort, which is a cross between a hostel and a hotel. We have had a couple of lazy days on the beach, which is right next to the pool, which is right next to the bar, touching up our tans and luckily, the weather held for all but one day of torrential downpour. We went on a boat trip to another island where we snorkeled with beautiful fishes and sharks! Small ones, but sharks none the less! The water is so clear, ...
Fiji, Fiji jenscoolFiji is the most amazing place. I intended to go and sit on a beach for a week and ended up getting so much more than that out of it. The weather was not what I'd hoped for, but i totally chilled out - even took my watch off and moved to "Fiji time" (everything happens a couple of hours after they say it will!!) I went to a couple of local villages and saw churches (one of which doubled as the vicar's house too - he slept in the corner!), houses (really just shells with nothing inside but mat...
Fiji, Fiji kathyfaceThe pace was then to step up a few notches as I returned to the main island of Viti Levu staying in Smugglers Cove for a night, before joining the Feejee Experience (guided tour bus) for the next 4 days. Picked up at 8.15am on our lovely green bus - where two of the lovely ladies I'd met at Oarsman's were also on board - hurray! There were about 15 of us on the tour - fab group of friends for the trip ahead! Day 1: Nadi to Mango Bay! First stop was Nadi markets & shops where I bought a su...
