... on their side. We could see little tornadoes on the Adriatic as we drove along the coast.

The apartment is cozy and has new furnishings and its in the old town, on a small peninsula that was settled by the Romans. There's a forum, a bunch of ancient churches, a "pillar of shame" where people were tied and ridiculed for offenses to the state, and lots and lots of blue skies and water to match. There are quite a few yachts and ...

... or take an 800 meter walk - why not walk? I knew that there were some waterfalls here and I like them okay but what we came upon was new and fascinating. There was a 2KM boardwalk that wound its way along various cascading waterfalls. I had never seen water flowing through trees and grass like that. It looked like everything was flooded. We took a good few hours to take it all in. A really inspiring place. We headed towards Zadar and other coastal town ...

... that had been recommended by Chris and Ray. Very comfortable and surrounded on two sides by beaches. Lib had her first haircut of the trip in a little tent on the site; my ginger bouffant is very much overdue some attention. We went into the centre of Split the next day on a very busy bus where Phoebe spent the half hour trip singing repeated verses of The Wheels on the Bus. We walked along the harbour and up Marjan Hill, a large area of ...

Woke up about 11am, another free day today luckily so we can recover from the big party night. Went and had a couple of coffees at a nearby restaurant which put me in the best mood all day. Wandered down to the campsite that we were at the previous day to spend some time on the beach. Played giant chess with a 8yr old boy helping me out. Played a bit of table tennis too which was pretty fun. ...
