Awesome casino and hotel. the spa is amazingly comfy, and the room was worth the $300 bucks. The casino was big and a managed to get jackpot earning myself another three big ones

Not having a casino makes this a wonderfully quiet and intimate hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location.

Great buffet breakfast- well good anyway. Cronut the highlight. Headed off to walk the strip. So ******* hot. First we found New York New York- fake New York inside a casino. Includes a roller coaster, tenement facades, fake Chinese laundry, everything with Jewish or Italian names. The day got weirder. Fake Ancient Rome. Fake Venice including fake …

A relaxed start. No real stress. Lost Leon in the airport car park for a while. OK flight to Auckland then a nearly 4 hour stopover. Leon lost his boarding pass, misplaced his wallet and almost left his jacket in the overhead locker. No surprises so far! Slept a bit on the flight to LAX. Food bearable. Arriving in LAX is like a slap in the face. Ah …

After far too much breakfast, we planned to walk 'the strip' to see the sights, which consists exclusively of hotels with various shops and restaurants attached. So from our Caesars Palace Hotel, past the dancing fountains of the Belllagio, the Cosmopolitan (we decided 10am was a bit early for a Cosmopolitan at the Cosmopolitan!), Mandarin Oriental …

Leaving the North Rim of the Canyon at sunset we headed North to find some accommodation only to find that every hotel in a 2 hour radius seemed to be fully booked! We managed to slink into a RV camp late at night who's main selling point was on it being 'clean'. Unfortunately it was five meters away from the main road where truck roared past at 60mph so it definitely not quiet. Oh well beggars can't be choosers. Mum ...

... how quickly the temperature increases. The patio tiles around the pool were getting too hot to walk on in bare feet. Essentially, our plan for the day was to get to Las Vegas via a handful of Death Valley must-see sights. The first of these was Zabriski Point, an excellent high point which gives you views across the valley, particularly of the 'badlands' where you can easily see the way that water travels down the hillsides creating little gulleys after heavy ...
